WECAA was created as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-political organization with the simple goal of providing a platform for diplomats to engage in professional development in Education and Culture, as well as encourage networking and information sharing.
Welcome to one of the most influential and important diplomatic communities in the world– Washington DC, representing over 180 embassies. The Educational and Cultural Attaches are a very important part of our robust and exciting diplomatic community–these attaches are why most of the important events happen!

What are the purposes of the Association?
The purposes of the Association include the following:
- To foster professional, cultural, and social ties in the Educational and Cultural Attaché community in Washington D.C. and in strengthening relations with the United States of America.
- To increase exchanges within the Educational and Cultural Attaché community, business community, and other communities in Washington D.C. in the areas of academics, culture, and sports and to foster the development thereof among the youth, students, educators, artists, and budding leaders in the United States and other countries; and
- To provide members with professional development opportunities.
